Apollycon Wordsmith Scholarship

The ApollyCon Wordsmith Scholarship was founded by Jennifer L. Arementrout to empower and uplift members of the book community by providing them with invaluable access to ApollyCon resources. Supported by a board of directors including, Nita Banks, Stephanie Brown, Matt Dellisola, and Vonetta Young, our mission is to foster an inclusive literary community where aspiring and established historically marginalized authors, readers, and industry professionals can thrive. Through this scholarship, we aim to remove financial barriers, facilitate meaningful connections, and support the creative journeys of individuals who are passionate about the written word. We believe in the transformative power of literature and are committed to nurturing the talents and dreams of wordsmiths everywhere.

About the Award

We will be providing a scholarships to Authors to attend ApollyCon as a signing Author in 2025. This award will include the following conference related expenses:

  • Table fee waiver
  • Hotel room at the event hotel (check-in Wednesday (4/9) and check out Sunday (4/13))
  • Transportation costs (if needed)
  • Inclusion on two ApollyCon panels
  • Optional opportunity to have a book included in a Primal/Ascended bag (no less than 500) at no cost to the author

Awardees will be chosen through a selection committee and announced in the 2025 ApollyCon author lineup.

Award Requirements

Applicants must:

  • include a 2000 word or less written statement on how this would benefit you
  • be a published romance author with at least one book available
  • must provide a link to their author website and bookseller(s) author page (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iBooks, Kobo), and Goodreads page
